410[GONE] - Community Conversations

As part of its commitment to community engagement and engaged scholarship, the Department of Theatre Arts & Performance Studies at Brown University is hosting a series of community conversations around the upcoming production, 410[GONE].

These free events offer a safe space to discuss some of the particular mental health challenges that Chinese and Chinese-American students on campus at Brown University might face. Working with partners at the Brown Center for Students of Color, and Counseling and Psychological Services, the conversations will be carefully facilitated by student MPCs (Minority Peer Counsellors) to engage the community at Brown in difficult, but hopefully meaningful and transformative conversations. 

You are invited to join us for the following FREE events:

EVENT 1: Open Rehearsal / Meet the Cast
Tuesday, March 17, 7-8pm. Leeds Theatre
Meet the cast and crew of the show at this open rehearsal. A friendly welcome and opportunity to learn more about the production. Chinese snacks provided. And plenty of entertainment.
Free and open to all.

EVENT 2: Dinner & Conversation - Mental Health and the Asian American Experience
Tuesday, March 31, 6pm. Brown Center for Students of Color (formerly Third World Center)
Free. Places limited, please RSVP to taps@brown.edu
Join us for dinner and a conversation facilitated by MPCs around mental health and the Asian American experience at Brown.

EVENT 3: Dinner & Conversation - Mental Health, the Asian American Experience & 410[GONE]
Tuesday, April 14th, 6pm. Brown Center for Students of Color (formerly Third World Center)
Free. Places limited, please RSVP to taps@brown.edu
Join us for dinner and a conversation facilitated by MPCs. The conversation will pick up themes from the earlier conversations, the production of 410[GONE], and the ideas and interests of the people in the room.
