Rebecca Gibel
Biography
Rebecca Gibel is an actor whose work has been lauded across theatre, tv, film, and voice acting. On stage, Rebecca has worked with Tony Award-winning companies such as the Cleveland Play House, Actors Theatre of Louisville, Intiman Theatre, Huntington Theatre Company, Shakespeare Theatre DC, and McCarter Theatre Center. Notable roles include Rosa in Leopoldstadt at Boston's Huntington Theatre Company and Shakespeare Theatre DC, Ado Annie in Richard Jenkins' reimagining of Oklahoma, and KT in Maria Friedman's Merrily We Roll Along. Rebecca has originated roles by such luminary playwrights as Sarah Ruhl, Jackie Sibblies Drury, Mia Chung, and George Brant, and collaborated with trailblazing directors such as Whitney White, Liesl Tommy, Lee Sunday Evans, and Taibi Magar. On screen, Rebecca plays a key role in the Oscar-winning film, CODA, which won the SAG Award for Best Ensemble Cast, and recurs opposite Ed Burns for two seasons on MGM+’s Bridge & Tunnel. Other credits include Paramount+'s Finestkind, opposite Jenna Ortega, as well as appearances in Salem's Lot, Don’t Look Up, NOS4A2, The Plot Against America, Law & Order: SVU, and Spenser Confidential. She is a company member at Trinity Rep and a founding member of The Feast, a living-wage theatre in Seattle. Rebecca has narrated over 250 audiobooks for Audible, Disney, HarperCollins and more. She splits time between NYC and Providence with her husband, Charlie, and their scruffy terrier mix, Henry Winkler.
